SecurePay has launched its new E-Commerce Fraud Detection and Prevention Service, which checks 'black listed' cards and stolen cards in real time, and prevents them entering the approval phase.
Fraud prevention techniques include checking that the purchaser's e-mail address is real and that the e-mail provider exists. Countries with very high fraud levels can be blocked through the use of the IP address.
The company also maintains a negative 'black list' file for merchants, linked to an international consortium of negative card files which filters out bad cards. Stolen cards are filtered out during processing and customers who try to use stolen cards have their IP address blocked from future use.
