Macquarie Telco enters Singapore market

Australian telco, Macquarie Corporate Telecommunications has been awarded a carrier licence to operate in Singapore.

The company will provide voice, data and online services to corporate customers, specifically multinational companies with operations in both Australia and Singapore.

David Tudehope, chief executive officer for Macquarie said: "It [the deal] will also enable our Australian customers to seamlessly extend their telecommunications requirements to Singapore."

Macquarie officials said the company expects Singapore to be a high growth and high volume market.

Singapore introduced full market de-regulation in the telecommunications sector on April 1, 2000.
