Following the move of retailer David Jones and the like, WC Penfold has joined the Internet revolution and become a 'bricks and clicks' trader.
Joining forces with corporate office and IT product suppliers, Corporate Express, the stationer has launched its e-commerce Web site, www.wcpenfold.com.au.
More than 5000 office products will be offered through the online marketplace, with partner Corporate Express providing logistics for the marketplace.
Hayden Hills, managing director for WC Penfold, said: "The alliance and technology provide us with the infrastructure to fulfil both direct (B2B) and retail (B2C) sales channels. B2B will be our primary market. We view the Web site as a natural extension of our core business."
Hills said he believes online ordering will add $20 million in three years to company sales.
