As part of a major assault on the Australian and New Zealand market, Entrust Technologies has formed a distribution partnership with Key Trust to provide e-business solutions.
Opening new regional headquarters in Melbourne last week, Entrust global sales vice president Rick Spurr predicted an explosion in demand over the next six months in Australia for products that facilitate electronic transactions.
"We feel that the time is now ripe to significantly scale up our involvement in the market here; Australia is among the first of the advanced economies to recognise that future growth of electronic business is dependent on trust, security and certainty in electronic transactions," he said.
Key Trust will distribute Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions from Entrust and also act as a Certificate Authority (CA) in Australia.
The federal government is developing e-business security and trust standards through its Gatekeeper program to support its mandate to have all federal agencies online in 2001.
Entrust has also announced plans to estblish a direct presence in Hong Kong and Singapore as part of its strategy to meet growing regional demand for e-business infrastructure.
