Indigenous name change for Aussie company

Australian Palm applications developer, Palm Solutions has changed its name to yambay, ahead of a push into the international marketplace.

Leon Levit, chief executive officer for yambay said the new name "is indigenous Australian for hand" and "better reflects our Australian roots".

The company was founded in 1997 and develops a range of software applications for handheld computing devices. It also provides products to the utilities, industrial plants and manufacturing; real estate; financial services and wireless services sectors.

The name change also follows investment in the company by Rothschild Australia.
