Cisco's Chief of Global Operations Quits

Networking giant Cisco Systems Inc. on Thursday announced the resignation of Gary Daichendt, the company's executive vice president of Cisco worldwide operations.

Daichendt was responsible for overseeing the company's worldwide sales and manufacturing operations, said spokeswoman Sandra Wheatley. He joined Cisco in 1994 as vice president of intercontinental operations and assumed the position of executive vice president of Cisco worldwide operations soon after.

Daichendt resigned in order to spend more time with his family and to consider other personal and professional opportunities, Wheatley said.

Worldwide sales and manufacturing will be lead by Rick Justice, senior vice president of Cisco's worldwide field operations group, and Carl Redfield, senior vice president of its worldwide manufacturing operations group. They both will report to John Chambers, Cisco president and chief executive officer.
