MERCURY INTERACTIVE ACQUIRES TECHNOLOGY FROM ALLEREZ CORPORATION

<p>Business Technology Optimization Product Leadership Expanded With Enterprise Class Reporting and Analytics</p>
<p>SUNNYVALE, CALIF. – AUGUST 4, 2003 –Today, Mercury Interactive Corporation, (NASDAQ: MERQ), the global leader in business technology optimization (BTO), announced it has acquired technology assets from Allerez Corporation, a privately held company based in San Mateo, California.</p>
<p>The Allerez reporting and analytics technology transforms real-time data into actionable information that CIOs need to make strategic decisions and run IT as a business. The acquired Allerez technology enables organizations to integrate and aggregate data from multiple, disparate data sources and produce real-time reports and analytics. The acquisition of the Allerez technology will extend the customized reporting capabilities in Mercury Interactive’s application delivery and management software. Under the terms of the asset purchase agreement that closed July 11, 2003, Mercury Interactive paid US$1.254 million in cash for specified intellectual property assets.</p>
