MEDIA RELEASE

Australian-developed solution now available for the world’s largest funds management market

Sydney 11 July 2003 - DST International (DST) - the leader in business solutions for the investment management industry today announced the US launch of its Australian-developed flagship solution, HiPortfolio/3. With tens of thousands of development days and millions of dollars of investment, the core project team in Melbourne has finalised the Schedule D reporting module plus hundreds of North American-specific individual enhancements and is now marketing HiPortfolio/3 actively in the United States.

DST is now launching this fully integrated front to back office product as a top tier tool for investment management organisations, offering both license versions and fully hosted ASP versions out of the DST Kansas City data centre, one of the largest and most secure data centres in the US.

Ian Mathieson, Managing Director of DST International in Australia said, "The launch of HiPortfolio/3 in the US is not merely another stage of our global rollout of our market leading funds management platform. This really is the last bastion of the DST empire to be tackled. Now HiPortfolio/3 is available not only in the worlds largest funds management market, but also in the market which more readily adopts new solutions for greater functionality and results.”

“The US for some time now has been characterised as the boldest implementer of new investment solutions such as Individually Managed Accounts (IMAs) and we believe that this launch will have great flow on results back here in Australia for our users. The functionality of HiPortfolio/3 will only continue to grow and with the momentum of the large US market behind it, will reduce the lag times in the introduction of further enhancements to a global customer base.”

Mathieson also believes that the high implementation levels of HiPortfolio in Australia will in turn spur on further growth in the US: “Currently HiPortfolio is in operation in the majority of key Fund Management and Custodian organisations in Australia with many of these being US organisations or global organisations with substantial operations. It makes sense for them to standardise their technology and maximise their investments with a world leading solution that is committed to staying ahead of its competition, ” he continued.

HiPortfolio/3 supports unlimited rollups and exposures across multiple companies and allows for the exposure, risk and performance measurement across the enterprise that other products just are not capable of, but are so critical in this increasingly volatile era of multi-company and international holdings and compliance.

Mathieson further outlined the benefits for US users: "With our ASP offering, DST International can integrate the product, market data feeds, market data scrubbing, internal message hubs for STP throughput, and virtually unlimited scalability without capital outlay and business continuity at tiered monthly plans rather than up-front licenses fees." Mathieson concluded, "HiPortfolio/3 is scalable and modular so smaller companies can start out with smaller fees and the product grows with them."

Regional launches of HiPortfolio/3 will continue across DST's global offices in the coming months.
