Oracle Corp. just barely surpassed Wall Street's predictions for its second fiscal quarter, which ended Nov. 30. The company reported revenue of US$2.7 billion and net income of $623 million, a figure that was up 62 percent from $384 million from a year ago. Oracle officials credited strong growth in sales of the company's business applications. Applications revenue grew 66 percent to $279 million, while sales of Oracle's flagship database software increased just 19 percent.
