StorageTek has appointed David Cowell to the new position of principal consultant, data centre services, Asia Pacific Region.
In this new Melbourne-based role, David is responsible for the Data Centre Services which specialises in environmental and project services in and around the data centre.
StorageTek managing director Australian and New Zealand, Philip Belcher, said Cowell has some 24 years IT infrastructure experience in roles including data centre manager, infrastructure services manager and operations manager.
Most recently, Cowell held two infrastructure project management contract positions with the Victorian government. Previously, he was in senior infrastructure management positions at CSC and GE Capital IT Solutions. He has managed MVS, Unix, NT/W2K, desktop and network environments and performed line and technical project management roles and has also held vendor roles in solution design and service delivery management.
Cowell is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute and is a CompTIA IT Project + Certified Professional.
