Siebel Systems Inc. yesterday said it acquired Paragren Technologies Inc., a vendor of marketing automation software, for an undisclosed sum from its parent company, APAC Customer Services.
Siebel specializes in customer relationship management (CRM) software, which includes software for sales, marketing and customer service applications. The company plans to extend the functions of its own marketing software by combining it with Paragren's marketing database system, Siebel said in a statement. That will let users access and target customer data, and contact customers via e-mail, fax, the Web or phone, Siebel said.
Paragren's core product is a family of marketing applications called One-By-One. They include tools for data mining and analysis and for acquiring and keeping customers, as well as a tool for real-time marketing. The One-By-One application server organizes data from different sources into one framework, according to information on Paragren's Web site.
Siebel's own products include Siebel eMarketing, software that manages and delivers personalized promotions and communications with customers via e-mail and the Web, as well as Siebel Marketing, tools for developing and delivering marketing information, and analyzing interaction with customers and marketing campaigns.
