Integ wins Baulkham Hills Council Contract
and broadens its reach in the local council sector

Sydney, 16 June 2004: Integ Communication Solutions has won a major contract from Baulkham Hills Council to deploy a single communications solution.

The Integ solution links three separate Baulkham Hills Council offices into one community. Substantial growth, primarily due to new housing in the region, has meant that the council needed a single communication environment to manage its increased service demands across its geographically separated offices and functional teams.

The council can now rely on a single phone system to keep all three sites in contact with its growing number of customers and to provide superior customer service to ratepayers. The solution includes unified messaging, which will help the council minimise administrative costs, allowing staff to be more productive. In addition to this, using a wireless framework between two of the locations will reduce call costs.

"The Baulkham Hills Council has seen substantial growth, primarily due to new residents in the region. As a result we needed to increase our provision of customer service to cater for public demand. Integ's telecommunications solution has given us the means to provide top quality service to all our ratepayers in a cost effective way." Said Stewart Bates, Manager, Administration of Baulkham Hills Shire Council.

These new wins increase Integ's expertise in local council communications. Integ holds contracts with 11 councils across Australia.

There are four main challenges that councils around Australia are consistently facing says Integ CEO Ian Poole. "The first challenge is the need to streamline their processes by standardising technology across multiple sites. Furthermore, they need to link their disparate sites into a seamless technology community. These challenges are being faced against a backdrop of increased public scrutiny and demand caused by growing population and higher expectations. And, of course, the need to minimise costs wherever possible".

"The forward thinking councils have recognised that a consistent solution is the way to meet all of these four challenges" continued Poole. "At Integ, we have built a competency in the design and support of communication solutions to help councils overcome the challenges they are facing."
