MCI revenue still falling

MCI Communications continues its struggle to increase revenue according to results posted for February and March.

MCI, formerly WorldCom, this week filed its monthly operating reports for the last two months with the Southern District of New York Federal Bankruptcy court.

The carrier’s revenue for February was US$2 billion, which is 6.1 percent lower than MCI’s revenue in January, which totaled $2.2 billion.

MCI also posted its March results yesterday, with a revenue of $2.1 billion for the month. While the carrier’s revenue is 3.5 percent higher for March compared to February, the revenue still falls short of MCI’s January posting.

Earlier this month when the service provider filed its reorganization plan with the courts, MCI stated that it expects revenue for 2003 to total approximately $24 billion. So far, MCI is on track.
