Vignette appoints new general manager for Australia and New Zealand

 • 29 November, 2004 12:04

Adam Stott has been promoted to general manager for Vignette in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), from his position as finance director, Asia Pacific (APAC). Stott has been a driving force in the company, growing revenues and customer satisfaction by focusing the organisation on how Vignette’s products increase its customers’ efficiency. In his new role, Stott plans to build on the success of Vignette’s operations in ANZ.

Stott reports directly to Doug Etzel, Vignette’s general manager for Asia Pacific. “Adam has played an important role in the growth of Vignette. His sound business operations experience with other global software companies has been critical to our success, and we are confident Adam will lead Vignette to greater success. He has great relationships with our customers and understands the importance of delivering solutions that fit business requirements. His appointment to general manager of ANZ is well deserved.”

Stott said, “Vignette has continued to invest in the development of its products, and its customer relationships. We’re a healthy, growing company with a large customer base, strong sales force and an evolving technology offering. As testament to this, in 2004 industry analyst Gartner has identified Vignette as a leader all three categories in which it is assessed: Smart Enterprise Suites; Enterprise Content Management; Horizontal Portals. Vignette has strong market visibility in multiple geographies, consistent financial performance, good customer support, and comprehensive and scalable products. The importance of Vignette to its customers was reflected by the success of our first APAC annual user conference, Vignette Village, held in Sydney in early November. The three day event was attended by more than 130 people from our customer and partner organisations.”

Stott was Vignette’s finance director for five years, responsible for its APAC operations. Reporting to Vignette’s head office in Austin, Texas, his role involved managing finance, human resources, payroll, treasury, legal, tax, internal systems and network operations.

Prior to joining Vignette in 1999, Stott was the operations director for PeopleSoft Australia for five years in which time the company grew from 15 employees to 500. Stott has worked for a range of other software companies including Dun and Bradstreet software and Lotus Development.
