Vodafone has completed rolling out 4G across its network the telco said today. All of the telco’s 850MHz spectrum has been re-farmed to help boost 4G coverage.
In Cairns and the Sunshine Coast it has also allocated its spectrum in the 2100MHz band to 4G services.
Vodafone’s 4G network now reaches 95 per cent of Australia’s population, the telco said.
“We have spent billions of dollars over recent years to build a high performing 4G network throughout Australia for our customers,” Vodafone’s CTO, Benoit Hanssen, said in a statement
Vodafone has continued rolling out support for Voice Over LTE (VoLTE); a process that began in December.
Data usage grew explosively on the telco’s network in 2015. On the back of increased customer numbers and investment in its network, data usage grew 84 per cent year-on-year, Vodafone revealed in February.
