Black Friday buyers really did get great TV, laptop deals

With memories of the crowds and lack of sleep from Black Friday 2014 now distant memories for those of you who partook in the massive shopping day four months ago, you'll be glad to know you really did save yourself a bundle on certain electronics.

An analysis of the best deals on TVs, laptops/PCs, tablets, cameras and video game consoles shows that prices indeed have risen significantly for most items since them. The biggest price increases (both dollar-wise and percentage-wise) were seen for televisions, according to, one of numerous outfits that tracks deals.

On average, the price of the best bargain TVs from Black Friday has risen about $64, or almost 37%. Though note that the survey does cover TVs ranging in Black Friday prices from $60 (Proscan 19-inch) to $1,200 (Samsung 55-inch LED).

Laptop/PC prices have also increased significantly, on average, from their Black Friday lows, up about $60, or 23%. If you bought a 15.6-inch Acer ES1-512-C112D model for $138 on Black Friday, you'll enjoy knowing the lowest price now for the product is $268, a 94% increase.

The average tablet price increase has been $35, or 23%, though changes vary greatly depending on which models you're talking about. The Amazon Fire HD 7 tablet, sold for as low as $109 on Black Friday, has increased $30 in price, or 28%. An Apple iPad Mini 3 (16GB) now costs $25 more than it did on Black Friday, a 7.7% rise.

A rare few products have actually gone down in price from their Black Friday lows, according to Among them, the Apple iPad 2 (refurbished), which can be had for $210 now vs. $229 on Black Friday and a 130-inch MacBook Air, now available for a low price of $1,029 vs. a Black Friday low of $1,049.
