Business applications vendor PeopleSoft is rolling out a beefed-up version of its customer relationship management suite that it boasts will be easier to use and implement.
The Pleasanton, Calif.-based software vendor Monday announced PeopleSoft CRM 8.8, which will ship later this month. In addition to 150 new features and enhancements, it will have three new vertical applications: CRM for High Technology, CRM for Insurance and CRM for Energy. The application also has a new easier-to-use interface, PeopleSoft claims, and can be rolled out more rapidly to ensure user adoption and faster payback.
"As the CRM space matures, enterprises are desperately seeking to reduce overall complexity," Steven Bonadio, an analyst at Stamford, Conn.-based Meta Group Inc., said in a statement. "It is therefore essential that organizations embrace CRM solutions that integrate rapidly into the enterprise, are readily usable and intuitive and provide robust closed-loop analytical capabilities that can improve business processes to support the customer life cycle."
Among the new features are enhancements to the PeopleSoft Marketing module, including the improved management of multichannel campaigns. A sales tool can dynamically guide selling for customers. And 30 new analytical capabilities are built in, including employee performance measurement and what-if analyses.
