UTC signs $255m Asia Pacific services deal

US-based manufacturing giant United Technologies Corporation has signed a $255 million ($US143 million) deal to extend its outsourcing agreement with CSC to include its operations in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, New Zealand and China.

Under the agreement, CSC will provide infrastructure support services for more than 10,000 desktop computers and 400 servers at more than 400 sites throughout the Asia-Pacific region, according to a statement issued by CSC.

UTC is $US28 billion corporation better known for its subsidiaries Carrier Corporation, Otis Elevator, Pratt & Whitney and Sikorsky Aircraft. Total employment is about 152,000 employees including some 79,000 people outside of the US.

The $255 million Asia/Pacific expansion of UTS' original 1999 contract brings total UTC signings with CSC to $7 billion. The contract runs until December 2014.
