Insurer connects Asia/Pacific offices with IP VPN

Melbourne-based insurer Marsh has adopted a fully managed data service to connect its Asia/Pacific region offices.

Optus and Singapore Telecommunications will manage the network system, which the companies said would be based on Optus' OPI Direct Plus and Singtel's Connect Plus IP-VPN systems.

The deal is a two-year multi million dollar agreement.

The system will service Marsh's operations in Asia, Australia and Fiji and connection to New Zealand and the US.

"We have 33 offices in 13 countries throughout the Asia/Pacific region, and the joint ability of Optus and Singtel to deliver a state-of-the-art, fully managed IP network to all the countries where we have a presence made them the obvious choice," said Ken Hall, IT director, Asia/Pacific of Marsh.
