Telstra appoints former OzEmail CEO to head broadband

Telstra has recruited former OzEmail CEO Justin Milne to head up its broadband business.

Milne will commence his new role as chief of broadband services at Telstra on November 18 2002.

With more than 25 years experience in the media, IT and Internet fields Telstra claims Milne is well positioned to identify and pursue opportunities to accelerate Telstra's broadband business.

Ted Pretty, group managing director, Telstra Retail, said that he is excited about the contribution Milne will make in "taking Telstra's important broadband business to the next level and beyond".

Milne said he is looking forward to "assisting Telstra to meet its targets of having one million customers using its broadband networks in 2005 and generating $1 billion in revenue the following year".

Milne was OzEmail's CEO and senior vice president for MCI in Asia Pacific since 1999. He joined OzEmail as vice president, datacasting. Before joining OzEmail, Milne was CEO of Infobox, a start up wireless broadband technology company.
