321 Studios announces DVD X Rescue in Australia

 • 07 November, 2003 09:49

Sydney (November 7, 2003) — 321 Studios, the leader in DVD back-up software, today announced the release in Australia of another breakthrough in digital asset protection technology: DVD X Rescue and CD X Rescue. These two products recover and restore data from unreadable, scratched, corrupt or defective DVDs or CDs. Using a DVD or CD burner, DVD X Rescue and CD X Rescue create brand new, perfectly playable DVDs or CDs from the damaged original.

“DVD X Rescue and CD X Rescue are perfect solutions for imperfect media,” said Rob Semaan, the Sydney-born and raised CEO of 321 Studios, which is headquartered in St Louis, US. “No other product can recover data from damaged media sources in this way.”

CD X Rescue can recover lost music or data from almost any scratched or damaged CD, CD-R or CD-RW disc, including music and audio CDs, data CDs in all common Windows and Macintosh formats, Photo CDs, and CD-i and CD+G discs. CD X Rescue recovered CDs will play on any home CD player or PC with a CD-ROM drive.

DVD X Rescue has all the features of CD X Rescue, plus the ability to recover movies, music, data or photos from DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW discs. If a song skips or a movie jumps, DVD X Rescue can create a new disc that plays perfectly. Recovered copies created with DVD X Rescue can be used on any home DVD player that’s equipped to play DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW media (most new DVD players) as well as on PCs with DVD drives.

DVD X Rescue and CD X Rescue have been tested extensively, and can repair and restore discs rendered unreadable due to scratches from regular use. It can even foil some aggressive scratching beyond normal use as tested in the 321 Studios’ laboratory.

CD X Rescue and DVD X Rescue work far better than repair products that “come in a bottle,” which actually rub some of the plastic off the disc. While these systems can often temporarily fix certain scratch problems, they must be replaced when the polishing paste is consumed and they don’t offer a long-term solution for disc users.

Pricing and availability

DVD X Rescue ($149 ERP) and CD X Rescue ($100 ERP) are available now through retailers nationwide. Customers requiring support should contact 321 Studios Australia on 02 9451 9460 or Retailers seeking product or support should call 02 9975 2799 or 03 9328 1277.
