Phil Bullock has been named the new managing director for IBM Australia/NZ, succeeding David Thodey, who joins Telstra as group managing director Telstra OnAir.
"Bullock brings a unique set of skills and expertise to IBM customers throughout Australia and New Zealand," commented IBM Asia Pacific general manager Kakutaro Kitashiro. "He has achieved superior results and I am confident that IBM will continue the momentum it has achieved as we help our customers to better help their customers through e-business."
Bullock, who has worked for IBM for 22 years in a variety of senior management roles, most recently as general manager, Personal Systems Group (PSG), said he was looking forward to the new role.
"There has never been a more exciting time in the IT industry, particularly as organisations grasp the very real business changes brought by the evolution of the internet, and IBM is well-placed to help companies leverage these opportunities," he said.
Noting that IBM and Telstra had had a long-standing, strong business relationship, Kitashiro thanked Thodey for his "hard work" at IBM and wished him all the best at Telstra.
"I look forward to the continued close partnership between IBM and Telstra," he said.
