Security to lead industry bounce back

IDC Australia predicts security, storage and managed network services will be some of the top moneymakers between 2002 and 2005.

Projections from the analyst's ongoing market intelligence and advisory services, predict worldwide market recovery will start in the second half of 2002; with Australian IT markets to start bouncing back as early as March 2002.

The industry analyst also foresees 'networked solutions' replacing 'infrastructure' as the IT buzzword of the year.

According to IDC, the top 10 technologies to watch in mid-term include IP virtual private networks, Internet services, network storage, Web hosting, voice over IP, CRM software, handheld companions, application service provider services, mobile content solutions and security solutions.
