IBM Global Services and Onyx Software have signed a trans-Tasman agreement to develop Internet-based customer relationship management solutions for the mid-size enterprise market.
The companies will combine intellectual resources on deployment, marketing, service and cross training, said Brian Prentice, Onyx Australia and New Zealand director of regional alliances.
Prentice said Onyx aligned with IBM GS to capitalise on the company's high-end customer set, adding that Onyx's products were a good fit with the vendor. Prentice said their offerings were not jingoistic but straight-forward, Internet-achitected solutions targeted at vertical markets across the board.
Customers will have access to Onyx's XML-based CRM software applications and IBM GSA's implementation and e-business experience in CRM processes and call centre management.
Prentice expects to see the strongest uptake from business of all sizes in financial services, industrial manufacturing and telecommunications sectors.
The companies claim they will deploy their solutions in three months and reduce the customers' cost of ownership. Local Onyx clients include Inchcape Motors, Amway, Sony Music and Peakhour. Prentice declined to disclose the value of the agreement citing a commercial in confidence clause with IBM GSA.
