A Telstra spokesman has denied claims that Tesltra BigPond users were unable to access their e-mail accounts for four days straight, claiming the rumours are "total crap".
The spokesman confirmed there was a problem with ADSL on Saturday in New South Wales, but the problem was repaired by 10.30 Saturday evening.
On Monday there were two separate problems with outages, due to a "switching problem in the router" which occurred for an hour each time.
The spokesman said people couldn't access e-mail only for those two periods but could access everything else on the Telstra site.
Telstra received "a few" phonecall complaints on Saturday regarding the outage but have received none since, the spokesman said.
