RequestDSL chooses PowerTel for ATM backbone

RequestDSL has selected PowerTel to provide asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) backbone services to support its national DSL network rollout.

The agreement with PowerTel includes the provision for data transport from RequestDSL's network nodes located in Telstra exchanges, over its ATM network, to RequestDSL's CBD-based points of aggregation.

RequestDSL has completed the first phase of its broadband rollout in Melbourne and Sydney with multiple exchanges now fully operational.

Further exchanges are under construction in Sydney, Melbourne and a third capital city.
