Bruce Thompson, former managing director of Hewlett-Packard Australia, has joined the board of Keycorp as a non-executive director, at the same time as Malcolm Irving has been appointed non-executive chairman.
Thompson was with HP for 32 years in Australia and overseas until his retirement last August. He is on the boards of a number of other companies, including Innovonics, where he is chairman, and Sausage Software. He is also a member of the Australian Information Economy Advisory Council and a trustee of the Melbourne Cricket Ground Trust and the Victorian Education Trust.
New chairman Irving replaces Brian Clayton, who has retired from the Keycorp board. Irving has a strong background in banking, having spent 12 years as managing director of CIBC Australia, and is on a number of boards, including Caltex (chairman), Telstra and Carbonne.
