George Weston Foods inks $5m outsourcing deal

George Weston Foods has entered a $5 million outsourcing deal for the delivery and management of enterprise systems and support services.

Sydney-based food manufacturer George Weston Foods signed a two-part contract with Kaz Computer Services. The first contract will see Kaz deliver new IBM eServer pSeries systems. The second contract is for the planning and management of GWF's facilities and also disaster recovery services.

Kaz will be responsible for housing, managing, operating and supporting GWF's IBM eServer pSeries and Wintel infrastructure.

George Weston Foods' CIO Frank Coogan said the company was seeking an IT outsourcing provider who could be responsive to the company's changing business needs.

GWF has 6500 employees in 60 sites across Australia and New Zealand. The company is a subsidiary of Associated British Foods.
