Lotus Tuesday announced the beta release of its newest Notes product, code-named Rnext.
According to the announcement, Lotus will involve users earlier in the development stage than with previous product releases.
"Our continuing mission is to ensure that our customers and partners feel confident in their Lotus investment, so we've designed an extensive beta testing program that will not only allow our customers to get an early look at Rnext, but will also allow Lotus to incorporate massive amounts of customer feedback into the final product," said Jeanette Horan, executive vice president of worldwide development and support at Lotus.
The beta of Rnext is available for download at http://notes.net/rnext.
The announcement came one day before the software manufacturer begins its Admin 2001 conference in Boston.
Lotus, a subsidiary of IBM, is also heavily promoting Rnext at the conference, which will feature keynote speeches from Notes creator and Groove Networks CEO Ray Ozzie and Lotus CEO and President Al Zollar.
