Lotus updates Domino Extended Search

Lotus Development Corp. Wednesday released Domino Extended Search (DES) 3.5, an add-on product for Domino that handles searching throughout Lotus Notes/Domino domains, stored legacy data and selected Internet sites.

DES works as a stand-alone application or as a "portlet" for K-station, Lotus's enterprise portal builder and unified communications interface. New features in release 3.5 include support for parent company IBM Corp.'s AIX operating system, improved scalability and security, and enhancements to the Link Development Toolkit. DES allows users to create custom Web client applications, schedule queries to run at specific times, save queries, and crawl Web pages to search and index content.

DES is currently available worldwide priced at US$3,995. The application runs on Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, and NT, and works in conjunction with Lotus Notes 4.64 and above.
