Neutral IX data centre to open in Sydney

Pihana Pacific has announced it will open a carrier neutral Internet exchange (IX) data centre with peering capabilities aimed at the ASPs, ISPs and enterprise market in Australia.

The facility, to be located at Mascot in Sydney, is scheduled to open in June and will provide interconnections with any carrier network, in addition to advanced switching, routing and peering capabilities.

Safety and security features will include atmosphere monitoring, laser fire sensors and biometric screening for access to data racks.
