Lucent Technologies and Siebel Systems are partnering to provide service providers with a solution that allows them to capture a single view of customers.
The recently signed agreement will lead to an integrated offering that brings together the Lucent Arbor/BP Billing Platform and Arbor/OM (Order Management) software with the Siebel eCommunications customer support platform.
The eCommunications package consists of e-business applications that cover a variety of customer touch points, including the Web, call centers, field organisations, and distribution channels. The grafting of the products is intended to help service providers develop new revenue streams via better-focused marketing.
The combination is also expected to improve customer service and save users a few steps in the deployment process. The melded software platform, intended for providers of mobile, 3G (third-generation), and IP-related services, is slated to be available from Lucent in the second quarter of this year.
