Vulnerability: Unchecked Buffer in DirectX

Microsoft warns two vulnerabilities exist in the DirectShow technology within DirectX, a set of low-level Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) used by Windows programs for multimedia support.

These vulnerabilities cause buffer overruns in the function used by DirectShow to check parameters in a Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) file, which in turn could be used by a malicious user to execute code.
