Northern Parklife Inc. this week announced storage software that helps system administrators more easily set disk space quotas for users.
Quota Server Admin+ is Web-based storage management software that can remotely set user-based quotas. From any computer, the systems administrator can set quotas by group, file server, department or individual user.
According to International Data Corp., the demand for storage capacity will increase tenfold from 2000 to 2003. Merely adding storage capacity to meet these requirements results in underutilized, unpoliced storage.
Quota Server Admin+ lets companies organize their storage infrastructures. When a quota is exceeded, an alert prompts the administrator for action.
Quota Server supports cluster and shared storage arrays. It also includes a reporting engine built on Crystal Reports. Over 25 report templates are included.
Quota Server Admin+ integrates with Tivoli Management Environment, CA Unicenter-TNG and HP Openview. It also has a snap-in module to Microsoft Corp.'s Management Console.
Quota Server Admin+ works on Windows NT and Windows 2000 networks. It is available in the US for US$1,300 per server.
