One.Tel customers with fixed lines or Next Generation mobile phones will now have the option to use Telstra following two new deals finalised with the company's administrators.
Ferrier Hodgson said a package had been finalised where home and business fixed-line telephone customers will automatically become a Telstra customer if they use their telephone service after midnight Friday June 8.
This arrangement only applies to local and emergency calls.
Telstra said customers remain free to choose any other fixed line carrier, but they will be required to organise the changeover themselves.
One.Tel's mobile customers also have the option of moving to Telstra MobileNet without incurring any charges associated with termination of their contracts. Customers will also be able to retain their existing phone number.
