Com Tech Communications will officially change its name to Dimension Data Australia on Monday July 23 and will open its new Australiasian headquarters in Sydney the following day.
The name change follows the November announcement that Dimension Data Holdings had completed the acquisition of Com Tech, buying the remaining 24 per cent stake in the networking integrator and i-commerce solutions provider. Com Tech Education Services will be renamed Dimension Data Learning Solutions.
David Shein, chairman and founder of Com Tech Communications, said the rebranding completes the formalities surrounding the acquisition, and added that it will be "business as usual at Com Tech".
Bruce Watson, executive director, Dimension Data, said Com Tech's good track record will continue as the company becomes Dimension Data Australia.
Dimension Data is an independent, global network services and interactive commerce technology provider, and is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
"It is business as usual for our Australian operation - the company has a new name to reflect our international strength but the Com Tech culture remains. Australian businesses are heavy users of technology and we see tremendous opportunities in the region," Watson said, adding that Com Tech currently contributes 10 per cent towards Dimensions Data's group profits.
David Shein, the founder of Com Tech, will remain chairman of the business and Jon Shein will remain as the managing director, responsible for the management and the running of the group's Australian operations. The company will retain the existing management team.
Shein said the acquisition has given staff an opportunity to share global knowledge and global standards, and to relocate should they want to transfer and work in other parts of the world for the group.
"It is an opportunity we have found most effective in retaining great staff. With good people the challenge is to keep them interested and stimulated," Shein said.
Com Tech invested more than $8 million to restore the historic Bushells building in Sydney, where the new Australasian headquarters will open next week.
