Novell Inc. and Computer Associates International Inc. Monday at CA World Expo announced that Novell's server and desktop management software will be integrated into CA's Unicenter enterprise management framework.
Novell's ZENworks for Desktops and Servers will be integrated by the third quarter of this year and will be available for free to CA Unicenter or ZENworks customers. The interface will have a unified management console, the companies said.
Unicenter administers and manages hardware, software and IT resources on enterprise networks. ZENworks for Servers can be installed on NetWare 4.11 or above, Windows 2000,and Windows NT 4.0 servers.
Novell's previous product for server management, ManageWise, was integrated into enterprise management consoles such as CA Unicenter, Tivoli TME and Hewlett-Packard OpenView. Details as to whether ZENworks will be integrated with Tivoli's enterprise console or HP Openview are unavailable.
