South Australian based HealthOn-Net (HON) has signed a three-year deal with health IT service provider Optum Groupto outsource its e-health communications and database listing service business.
HON is a venture between the General Practice Information Management Committee, HealthSolve and Protech and has amembership of more than 550 GPs, representing a quarter of the state's general practitioners GPs.
Under the terms of the contract, Optum has first right of refusal to supply all HON's e-commerce transactionmanagement services in SA.
The first service to be launched will be PathLink, an electronic pathology request and result management solution.
HON's users will be able to gain access to the solution through integration with Medical Director, the dominantclinical software in the Australian market.
Other services expected to come online revolve around referrals, radiology and a directory database for doctors.
