Business analytics software vendor, SAS, has recruited a new Australia and New Zealand managing director from within its ranks.
Former SAS ANZ marketing and services director, David Bowie, stepped into the role vacated by Gordon Clubb who had held the position since July 2001.
Bowie joined the company in November 2002 after previously working at Dimension Data as general manager.
SAS Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific executive vice-president, Mikael Hagstrom, said in a statement that as the company geared up for a sustained period of growth in the ANZ markets, Bowie was the right person for the challenge ahead.
He added that the company planned to increase its customer facing and sales team headcount by 30 per cent this quarter, accelerate skills development for its employees and invest in key programs including the establishment of a customer advisory council.
A SAS ANZ spokesperson said in a statement that the council would be established in the second half of 2012. "Its role is for SAS to be a more customer-centric organisation and listen to our customers so that we can support their needs," the spokesperson said.
