Optus unveils smartphone app for usage monitoring, bill payment

iOS, Android application includes account usage, bill payment and customer chat

Optus customers wanting to check their account usage or pay bills on their smartphone have been offered a new application called My Optus.

The app can be used by customers who have an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S/SII and certain prepaid handsets such as the Nokia E71.

Prepaid and post-paid personal mobile customers can view their service usage such as calls, SMS and data, recharge their account balance or change the call setup.

The app also gives customers the option of live chat or phoning a Optus customer service representative.

In addition, users can divert their phone to voicemail or turn on international roaming before they go overseas.
