Manufacturing and supply-chain management services company Solectron plans to acquire Stream International, a CRM (customer relationship management) vendor, the two companies announced on Tuesday.
The acquisition will make Solectron one of the world's 10 largest providers of CRM outsourcing services, the companies said. Solectron will gain customer support capabilities, including customer service and technical support. Stream, which had revenues of US$323 million in 2000 and is based in Canton, Massachusetts, operates 22 contact centers in North America and elsewhere.
The acquisition is expected to be completed by October. Stream will maintain its brand identity and operate as part of Solectron's Global Services business unit.
