Karl Schubert, former vice president and chief technology officer at Dell Computer Corp., has joined start-up storage management firm Zambeel Inc. as senior vice president of engineering.
During his tenure at Dell, Schubert led the company's entry into the enterprise storage arena and defined key technologies and product directions for Dell's enterprise servers and storage systems, Zambeel said in a statement. Prior to Dell, Schubert spent 14 years at IBM as a technical executive.
"Zambeel is rewriting the rules of network storage," said Schubert in the statement. "For years, businesses have been asking for enterprise-class storage systems that scale to hundreds of terabytes while maintaining the management ease of a single appliance. Zambeel is focused on developing a network storage solution to meet this need, and I look forward to helping Zambeel deliver a new class of scalable, highly manageable, flexible storage systems." Zambeel is in Fremont, Calif.
