NAB pursues online procurement

All purchases within National Australia Bank's IT department will be completed online on the completion of a global, online procurement rollout.

NAB has purchased a global licence from local business-to-business e-commerce vendor, Streamlink for an undisclosed sum.

Ian Hughes, NAB's head of global IT procurement, said the Streamlink solution would provide the bank with a procurement system for its worldwide operations.

"A key benefit of the solution is the visibility and standard process it provides us in our deployment of interoperable technology solutions," Hughes said.

"It gives us an important tool to provide global purchasing leverage and allows for a more efficient procurement system, linking us to our vendor base, and covering the entire purchasing cycle."

The NAB will be electronically connected directly to its technology suppliers when the 12-month project is completed.
