Optus has launched a new mobile TV offering. The new Optus TV Now service allows a 3G-capable mobile device to act as a PVR, allowing users to view and record free-to-air TV stations.
All 15 free-to-air channels are supported by the new service, which is available in three tiers. The basic plan, which is free to Optus mobile customers, includes 45 minutes of storage per month. The $6.99 standard plans includes five hours, while and the premium plan includes 20 hours of storage for $9.99 per month.
Recorded TV shows can also be accessed from PCs.
Director of Optus digital media, Austin Bryan, said in a statement that the new offering highlights the potential for consumer Cloud services.
