Informatica on Monday will release two new products to fill in the pieces of what company officials are calling an integrated stack for BI (business intelligence).
Informatica, in Redwood City, Calif., will announce an analytics delivery platform and Informatica Applications 5.0, according to Bart Foster, vice president of worldwide marketing at Informatica.
Informatica is not the only BI vendor to take the pre-packaged approach. Brio earlier this week detailed intentions to transform itself from a BI tools player into a solutions provider.
Analysts listed the benefits of integrated suites of cost savings as a result of faster implementations and more effective access to information stemming from tighter integration of applications and systems. They pointed out, however, that suites don't eliminate the need to integrate homegrown applications and actually get in-house data into the analytical applications.
