PeopleSoft on Tuesday plans to announce a module for its CRM (customer relationship management) platform that is customized for the financial services industry.
The Web-based product, PeopleSoft 8 CRM for Financial Services, is intended for use by global banking, insurance, and brokerage institutions, according to the Pleasanton, Calif.-based company. PeopleSoft's new product provides a view of the customer that includes complexities of personal, professional, and fiduciary relationships.
Support representatives can gain access to a customer profile and customers have access to their own information, according to PeopleSoft. This customer-centric view allows for more informed responses to customer inquiries and enables up-selling and cross-selling of additional financial products and services, PeopleSoft said.
Configuration of the product can be done by a business user, as opposed to requiring a programmer. There is no need to alter data models or write additional code, PeopleSoft said. Account- and role-based security functions are part of the product.
PeopleSoft 8 CRM for Financial Services is scheduled to ship in December.
The company also plans other industry-specific CRM offerings in 2002, including modules for the insurance and communications industries.
