Oracle this week announced Oracle Quality Online, a quality management application that tracks and manages enhancements, product defects, and associated tasks across business units.
The product, which functions as a Web-based application, enables companies to address product quality through tracking of requested enhancements and product defects, according to Oracle, in Redwood Shores, California. Another benefit is improved customer feedback during the product life cycle, which translates into lowered customer support costs, Oracle said.
Quality Online is a component of the Oracle Service applications family. Departments working on a product can use the application as a workflow-based collaboration application, said Juliette Sultan, vice president of CRM product strategy at Oracle. Groups such as customer service, product marketing, and engineering departments can utilize the product, the company said.
