Australian Government agency, ComSuper, is on the lookout for a new CIO to head up its ICT department.
The role will involve strong relationship management skills plus a background in liaising with internal and external stakeholders to capitalise on the increasing partnership between business and IT.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the everyday operations of ICT governance, applications development, information management and infrastructure. The role currently reports to ComSuper chief executive officer and commissioner for Superannuation, Peter Cormack.
The new CIO will succeed Adrian Walkden, who has been in the role since July 2004, prior to which he was project manager for the agency. Walkden will finish up in the role on 25 March, and will start in the CIO role at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission on the 28 March 2011.
According to the advertisement, the role encompasses the strategic and operational ownership of ICT projects, responsibility for the ICT functions facilitating the agency’s business requirements, a periodic review of the agency’s ICT plan and managing any changes to the plan, as well as implementations.
The new CIO will have a history of ICT in the superannuation sector and an understanding of the principles and practices.
Applications close 31 March 2011.
In January, ComSuper said it was seeking an IT manager for its IT Solutions Group reporting to the CIO.
In August last year the agency deployed a SingleCell BI solution.
