Hot on the heels of NCR's Teradata division's deal with Telstra wholesale to supply database and data warehousing solutions and services, the company has announced another deal with Telstra's retail and on-air divisions.
This newest project will see the vendor manage the integration and migration of data from Telstra's existing management information systems to Teradata's data warehouse. Following the changeover, Telstra's existing systems will be decommissioned.
A spokesperson for Telstra said currently there is a range of different systems doing the same thing as a customer relationship management solution and this deal will standardise the information on one platform and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the telco's CRM programs.
The spokesperson declined to comment on the worth of the deal, but said it is in the "millions", adding that at this stage there is no strategic agreement in place between Telstra and Teradata.
Teradata's deal with Telstra wholesale will see it supply solutions initially concerned with the implementation of a mobile number portability (MNP) reporting system. It is expected that subsequent applications will provide Telstra with new analytic applications and reports covering a wide range of product areas.
