Gerhard Rumpff has joined Microsoft Australia as its enterprise director. Rumpff replaces Gary Cox, who recently transferred to Tokyo to take on the role of general manager of the services divison in Asia.
In his new role Rumpff will be responsible for Microsoft's enterprise integrated services and solutions sales to large Australian companies.
With more than 25 years industry experience, Rumpff has worked in numerous sectors of the IT industry and most recently was the managing director of webMethods Australia and New Zealand.
Rumpff's experience includes enterprise-level applications, business process re-engineering, Internet access technologies, channel management and solutions sales.
Paul Houghton, managing director, Microsoft Australia, said Rumpff's extensive understanding of enterprise-wide issues and strong leadership skills make him the ideal person for the job.
